Our Story

INTO was founded in the spring of 2003 at Oberlin College by graduating seniors, Francesca (Peterson) Barbee and Malisha Richardson. INTO’s vision was first hatched by friends Francesca made while studying abroad in Ecuador. However, the inspiration came from her faith shared by co- founder Malisha that motivated both women to establish a non- profit based in the United States that would fairly purchase goods from artisans they had not yet met. And so the journey began.

Today, INTO wholesales to retail outlets across the United States, provides fundraiser packages for schools, religious institutions and other non- profits and now offers online shopping.
