Pinsaqui

Pinsaqui, a small village just north of the larger town of. Otavalo, is located in Ecuador’s Northern Sierra province Imbabura. The entrance to the community is just off the Pan American highway. Just like Peguche, families still speak the traditional language of Kichwa. Most of Pinsaqui’s families no longer weave as their community did for hundreds of years due to the lack of market accessibility. People now work in construction to supplement the small income they make from agriculture. INTO works with one of the last three artisans to weave within the village.
